Was talking to someone and she said overqualified people were applying to be her assistant and it “only paid 50k”. She asked me what I do again – I’d seen her a few weeks prior and she’d already asked. She knew I was out of work.
A few things here.
6 or so years ago I saw this person at my friend’s birthday party at a restaurant I definitely could not afford. She was working some dead end job and married to a man she moved to Idaho with and later divorced. She only paid for her own meal. The rest of us split the birthday girl’s and ours. I don’t drink, but everyone else did. That dinner cost me $86. I made $16-17 an hour, was living on my own and paying rent. That was a week of groceries. I needed that. But I paid it to go to my friend’s party.
I’ve never broken $50k a year in my life. Living with trauma and illness holds you back quite a bit.
That mediocre biotch can go to hell.
