Lost in translation

I don’t trust any ancient texts. They’ve been translated so many times and I’m not sure every connotation vs denotation was accounted for.

Lets look at a few examples in english:

“Forgive me father for I have sinned” vs “Sorry daddy I’ve been bad”

And also: “pony play” vs “horse play”

Technically, same denotation.

Very, very different connotation.

I’d only say one of the first grouping to a priest. Your guess as to which.
