I don’t know the truth of this story because I heard it second or third hand, and i doubt Chuck would confirm it, but here is how it went.
He had a pair race.
His pair partner wasn’t matching Chuck’s strength that day, and the pair kept veering off course.
When they didn’t win, Chuck said he hadn’t felt well that day.
That Chuck was the reason they lost.
