As we approach the election next week I want you to remember one name:
Aaron Bushnell
The only active-duty service member to self-immolate in political protest.
He was educated, he was a software engineer, and he had a will.
He injured no one but himself.
He was American born.
He had no ties to Israel.
No ties to Gaza.
Insanity has long been weaponized to keep silent those who speak truth.
When have enough children been slaughtered?
Enough hospitals been torched?
Enough people been starved?
When is it enough?
I am one person who no one hears, no one reads, and no one listens to.
But this country is funding a genocide.
This is not an eye for an eye – we are long past that.
Rest in peace Aaron Bushnell – may the rest of us find the peace you so dearly hoped for.
