Sometimes I bake my parents’ favorite desserts.
Not so I can give them to my parents.
So I can share them with my partner, or enjoy them myself, or give them to literally anyone else.
I’ve made this layered banana biscoff pudding with whip cream, and a pumpkin bread pudding with brioche and a cream cheese icing.
And we had them. And they were delicious. And for a time it brought me some peace.
I don’t need their approval, or validation, or anything else from them.
I can just be.
