I asked my sister once, who graduated from Harvard, what she put on her Harvard Application. Her mother is Brazilian – we share a father.
“White” she said, “I never thought to put anything else”.
Elizabeth Warren, a professor there at the time, certainly claimed to be “Diverse”.
She didn’t attend the school though – just taught there.
I took a DNA test – what a surprise to find out I have about as much Native blood as her – maybe a pinch more.
What is basically an error range.
I do not answer in the affirmative to the disability question on job applications. Or even in the decline to answer anymore – I have never moved forward on one on which I did.
It is absolutely used to discriminate.
I’ve advised others to answer no as well.
It will be used against you.
The system is set up for liars and cheats.
For those whose differences have no negative repercussions against them.
Or those who wish to game it.
It should be dismantled.
Why can buildings be grandfathered into not meeting handicap regulations? Don’t people still need to access them?
It’s just money. And waste. And greed. And bribes.
There is “handicap” access to Jefferson Station – a whole elevator and everything. Except the doors to the station don’t open wide enough to let a wheelchair through.
Try as we might we could not help a gentleman in one get through.
How is that allowed?
A city of thieves and crooks- a country of one. Maybe one day things will be different.
