I saw a sign in Philadelphia.
It said “Autistic Person Area” or something of the like.
My partner and I had never seen one like it.
For the deaf, and blind, yes.
I thought deeper on it.
It wasn’t the worst area, but it was not the best.
I remembered what happens to those of us in Philadelphia, in poorer neighborhoods.
I remembered my own story, and Walter Wallace Jr.
He should be alive today.
The sign was for cops.
The sign was a mother trying to protect her child from the very people who should not cause harm.
