The meaning of life is that no one thinks they’re the villain.
The meaning of life is that the backstory of the hero and the villain? They’re the same.
The meaning of life is that we are all sinners and saints and both and neither all at once.
The meaning of life is that there are no disorders- just variants of the human condition.
The meaning of life is that we are all human and all capable of love and hate.
The meaning of life is that we are not afraid of the monster under the bed. We are afraid that we are all capable, on some level, of becoming a monster. We just don’t know our breaking point.
The meaning of life is that we hide away the sick and the broken and the old because we are scared of our own fragility. We are scared we will one day become them.
We are scared to love, to hate, to change, to stay the same, to die, and to really live.
We are scared to let go.
We are scared to forgive.
We are really all the same.
The meaning of life is we pretend we are different so we feel less guilt when we hurt each other. Instead of just asking for forgiveness and grace. Or an apology.
These things are harder than the imaginary.
So we keep wondering and searching.
Instead of just looking inside ourselves.
And trying to be a little kinder and love a little harder.
To love ourselves, our family, our friends, and enemies.
Because we are all the same.
And that is what we fear. Because that is hard.
Love and forgiveness is hard.
And I also, am guilty.
Everyone is the villain in someone’s story.
And everyone is the hero in someone else’s.
And I’d like to forgive those who’ve harmed me.
And apologize to those I’ve harmed.
But it is hard, isn’t it?
Please give me grace, as I will give you.
